Richmond, England
Spend a Ted Lasso kind of day in Richmond. Great for a 6-8 hour detour between LHR and London proper.

Why Richmond?
For fans of Ted Lasso, Richmond is a delightful stop for a day while traveling between London-Heathrow and London proper. Store your bags nearby so that you can walk through the tiny streets and along the Thames where Ted Lasso was filmed.
For those staying with Hilton or Marriott, you can keep your luggage with the front desk of a sister hotel in Richmond (call ahead to be sure). Otherwise for £4.50/bag per day you can store bags here:
When to visit
Similar to London, best months to visit are April-May, September-October to avoid the rain and for moderate temperatures.
Where to stay
I recommend stopping into Richmond on a trip to London while traveling between London-Heathrow and London city proper so I have not stayed in Richmond. But previously a Hilton buff, I did store my bags at Hilton London Soon Park, slightly out of the way but a beautiful property with great service.
